ZHUYUAN HE

Zhuyuan He is a multidisciplinary product designer, interactive user experience architect, and creative technologist who specializes in product innovation with emerging technologies.

Before switching her field in design, she was a software engineer based in Singapore. She has Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design in New York and Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from the National University of Singapore.

" I believe that everyone is a designer in nature and design itself is a universal practice that happens in every industry, every job and every aspect of our life. People who have the title of “designer” are not different from people who hold other job titles in the critical thinking process, the only difference is that we are designing for different purposes in different fields. So defining what makes important to me as a good design could bring more prolonged impact than defining what makes me a designer. At an individual level, a good design to me means it connects people in intimate level, tells a story, applies simplicity in user experience and does not consume people in unethical way. On a wider perspective, a good design breaks down the physical and social barriers, encourages sustainability and openness, communicates good narratives and design vision, fosters creativity and protects our dignity with the compassion for humanity. "
