Cut and Post

In this project, I cut and post Richard Diebenkorn's painting to recreate new poster design.

The below drawings are selected from Ricard's Ocean Park collection for my creation.

I printed out all the printings I am interested and cut them into pieces based on their color and shapes.

Prototype I

I played around the individual pieces to reform different shapes and objects. Some trial and experiment are shown below.

I use the elements as my poster design pattern.

Prototype II

In my second prototype, I choose to develop more on the human figure element, I want the design is more story based. In the meanwhile, I also cut and form more different shapes including numbers.

The second prototype creates more texture for background with a story based on the human figure. However, the association between the background and the figure doesn't implies a clear storyline,

Final Prototype

The final prototype I continue exploring more new shapes and elements. I design two posters with a cohesive story.
